Share [+]We are well into 2013 and what does that mean to you. It means time is flying by and YOLO, so fix up your rental apartment already.
Sure it’s a rental but seriously, you live there. If your not actively house hunting then let’s do this already. Taking pride in your space is a foundation for having pride in yourself. Why would you spend so much of your time (especially your down time) in a place where you don’t feel comfortable? On that note your guests are not that comfortable seeing your messy house either, their just not telling you. That just sends the message that you don’t think you deserve to exist in a lovely environment, and you really DO.
The excuse of “I don’t have time or money and eventually I’ll move out” isn’t good enough. You know that thing in your apartment that bugs you every single day? What would it be worth not to notice it for one day? Multiply that by how long it’s been annoying you. I’ll bet the cost in time and money seems much smaller now. Perspective, people.
You’ve been avoiding taking on larger projects because it feels like your living situation is temporary. Its truly not your space but why live life being unhappy. Why not convey your desire to make your rental a place you’ll want to stay longterm, and you might just wind up with some speedy improvements.
