Kitchen and bathroom renovations, if done on a full scale, are notoriously expensive.  Even minuscule things like paint and tiles, when added to items like faucets and appliances, have a tendancy to drive the price tag up.  A bathroom renovation doesn’t have to be painful.  Hiring the right contractor is key and staying on top of the scope of work.  We maintained a comparatively low budget turning to repurposed and cheaply-sourced fixtures, making use of the original tub, tile floor & sink.  Remember anytime plumbing and electrical are involved the costs go up.  The client wanted the space to feel bigger without taking up too much space outside of the bathroom foot print.  I created a built in linen closet with just a little bit of space.

Tile doesn’t have to be expensive,  you can use inexpensive subway tile throughout and upgrade the bullnose and details with a contrast color.

For a small bathroom its good to keep bulky cabinetry out,  built-ins are the way to go, keep your toiletries & towels matching and great packaging for a tidy cohesive looks helps with open shelving.
